I challenge myself...
...to live a healthier life.
It's been two weeks now since I've been to the doctor. I've already made some drastic changes in my lifestyle, starting with the way I eat, I did some grocery shopping last Saturday and I loaded my cart with :
- Veggies
- Fruits
- Fish
- Chicken
- Yogurt
- Oat bran
- Wheat bread
- Wheat pasta
- Dried herbs
I've totally eliminated all the unhealthy foods that we used to buy. Now, I cook our food by baking, steaming, stewing, grilling and if ever I need to stir fry I only use olive oil or canola oil. When it comes to seasoning my food, I use herbs and spices and very little salt. I also made my own vegetable and chicken stock for added flavor to my dishes. It was really hard to get used to healthy eating but little by little I'm starting to enjoy it. I miss eating cupcakes and anything sweet, but once in a while I take a bite so that I won't feel bad and lose focus.
I'm doing some Cardio exercises and yoga at home. Every morning, I do a 30 minute exercise and on weekends, my hubby and I jog around the neighborhood. I do this religiously and I feel good with the outcome. I weighed around 130lbs. (overweight for my petite frame) before I began my challenge and as of to date, I already lost 5 pounds. It's still a long way to go for me to reach my ideal weight which is 100-106lbs. I'll try to post a before and after photo in the near future. Wish me luck!
