To bake or not to bake

They say baking is science and cooking is art. When I was still in school, I was much better in art than in science maybe that's why I'm having a hard time learning how to bake the right way than cooking dishes. Growing up, we were never taught how to bake at home and even in school. I just love to eat baked goodies and that's it. At first, I thought baking was a lot easier than cooking, but I was wrong. I didn't know that everything had to be measured exactly and the temperature of the oven had to be right. I've tried baking
several times and most of the time the outcome isn't perfect. I almost gave up on it but my husband thought of a solution just for me to keep baking (and for him to keep eating, hahaha!!!), he buys premix. Last weekend, I baked this Duncan Hines cupcake premix that he bought from Subic. Although it was much easier and faster to do, I'd still prefer my not so perfect way of making my own cupcakes. My husband would still eat it anyway, lol.

can you tell what's wrong with my baking?

  2. I know how you feel! My brother's girlfriend is a chef, and for his birthday, made him this absolutely delicious homemade cake (even the cream cheese icing was from scratch!). I look baking and cooking as well but I can just never compare!
